Gondola Station Enhancements in MV
Just in time for winter ski season, several enhancements to the gondola station located at Town Hall were completed that will appeal to both your ears and eyes. After hearing from some members, residents and guests that this station was a bit loud, this fall the station was outfitted with sound dampening materials and technology that substantially reduces the noise level from the gondola drive motor. Also, as part of the project, panoramic images of our beautiful region are featured on two of the walls and are strategically lit from behind by LED lighting to bring out certain elements such as rays of sunshine and points of light.
Take a moment to view pictures of the inside of the newly remodeled MV station, now named the Market Plaza Station.
Read the coverage about the Market Plaza Station in the Daily Planet Article – Gondola grows even more amazing.
Important facts about the gondola:
~The Town of Mountain Village owns and operates the gondola
~Majority of funding for the gondola is provided by TMVOA through a 3% real estate transfer assessment on Mountain Village property sales
~It costs approximately $3.6M annually to operate the gondola
~Additionally, capital and major repairs range from $500K to more than $2M annually
TMVOA 2019 Budget & Member Assessments
Last Wednesday (11/14), TMVOA held its Annual Members Budget Meeting to review the 2019 proposed budget and receive member input. If you were not able to attend or watch the meeting, you can view the budget presentation here or watch a video recording of the meeting here.
As part of the 2019 budget process, member assessments were evaluated. For the past 16 years, assessments rates for all member classes have not increased (unchanged since 2002). In order to more closely track with historical inflation rates (CPI) since 2002, member assessments will be increasing for all TMVOA member classes by 25%. This increase represents a $10 monthly increase for single family residential members for a $120 total increase for the year.
