Board of Directors

The TMVOA Board Of Directors is comprised of seven members as follows: (1) Class A Residential, two board members (2) are elected by the Class A Residential members, serving alternating two-year terms; (2) Class B Lodging, one (1) board member is elected by the Class B Lodging members, serving a two-year term which expires at the end of odd numbered years; (3) Class C Commercial, one (1) board member elected by the Class C members serving a two-year term which expires at the end of even numbered years; and (4) Class D Mountain Special Member, three (3) board members are appointed by the Mountain Operator by submitting written designation to TMVOA on or before each Annual Meeting of TMVOA.

Class A Residential Members are owners of real property zoned as Single Family, Condominium, Subdividable or Non-Subdividable Duplex, Employee Condominium, Employee Apartment, Employee Dorm and Employee Single Family under the Town of Mountain Village Community Development Code.

Class B Lodging Members are owner of real property zoned as Lodge, Efficiency Lodge, Hotel and Hotel Efficiency under the Town of Mountain Village Community Development Code.

Class C Commercial Members are owners of real property who own and operate any type of service, commercial or retail business, and all those Lessees who operate any type of service, commercial or retail business on their real property in accordance with the Community Development Code. If a Commercial real property is occupied by a Lessee, it is the Lessee who is allowed to vote rather than the Owner of the real property.

Class D Mountain Special Member consists of the Mountain Operator as the operator of the Mountain Facility (i. e. the Telluride Ski Area).

Tim spent his career in the alcohol beverage industry, owning and operating several businesses with his brothers, including a wholesale distribution business, a beer/wine/spirits importing company and a retail beer store. His areas of expertise are finance and technology. He and his family (wife Susie, daughters Madeleine (24), and Olivia (22)) belong to the Telluride Ski and Golf club where they can often be found on the course or on the slopes, Tim’s two favorite pastimes. They also own a home in Naples, Florida. He feels truly welcomed into this warm, wonderful and beautiful community and would like to participate in the effort to preserve and protect this place that he so dearly loves by serving on the TMVOA Board.

Jim Royer and his wife Carol first visited Telluride in 1983 and returned every year realizing that this was a unique and special place. They bought land in Mountain Village on Benchmark Drive in 1992 and built their home in 2002. Jim has been active in local Mountain Village issues and was very active in working on the Mountain Village Comprehensive Plan with residents and the Town Council. Jim has a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University. He was Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman of AECOM Technology Corp. when he retired in 2011. AECOM is a global engineering, architecture, and program management company. Jim looks to bring his engineering and development expertise to TMVOA in dealing with the continued development of Mountain Village to ensure that it continues to be a unique and special place.

John has spent his entire career in the hospitality industry, specializing in unique and special resort locations including Colorado, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and the Eastern Shore. As the leader of the opening team for what was then Capella Telluride, John is familiar with Mountain Village and its unique and special characteristics. Now with Auberge Resorts, John has regional responsibilities for Auberge’s mountain resorts, including The Madeline.

Duncan Hogarth brings a wealth of board leadership experience to the table, having served most recently as a Board Director of an Oregon Resort HOA. Here in Mountain Village, Duncan previously served as President of TMVRC Owners Association. As an Independent Management Consultant for Telluride Ski & Golf, Duncan specializes in enhancing hospitality offerings, spanning restaurants, golf courses, and member services. His dedication to community engagement is evident through his return for a second term on the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association, where he focuses on fostering Mountain Village vibrancy initiatives and preserving property values. Duncan's collaborative approach prioritizes the collective strengths of all stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive vision for community development. Beyond boardroom duties, Duncan indulges his passion for the outdoors, often found skiing or hiking amidst the scenic beauty of Telluride's landscape.
